On today's IGN The Fix: Games,
Sony's PlayStation 5 was the United States' best-selling console in January 2022, the NPD Group has announced. In the analyst group's latest data it has been revealed that the PS5 was the best-selling hardware platform in January in both units sold and dollars made. The Xbox Series X/S placed second in both categories, though the two consoles' combined front pushed overall hardware sales to the second highest January on record at $390 million, an increase of 22% from January 2021.
Sony and Guerilla Games have announced that Horizon Zero Dawn has sold over 20 million copies globally across PlayStation 4 and PC. The new statistic reflects the number of copies sold on both platforms as of November 2021. Additionally, more than one billion hours have been spent playing the game. This news bodes well for the franchise as its sequel is set to release next week.
Lost Ark is offering players who paid to play the free-to-play MMO early additional items if they switch to quieter servers. The move comes as Lost Ark is struggling with long server queues during its early access period ahead of the official free-to-play release later today.
