The Batman 2: What To Expect From The Dark Knight's Return - IGN The Fix: Entertainment

With The Batman sequel confirmed by WB at CinemaCon 2022, the question on a lot of #TheBatman fans' minds is what can be expected from the Dark Knight's return to the silver screen? With this announcement, we also got confirmation that Matt Reeves will be returning to direct, along with Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and crew returning to reprise their roles in #TheBatman2. Not many more details were revealed, however Matt Reeves did take to the stage at CinemaCon 2022 and promised more will shared at a future CinemaCon. Reeves has stated that the first film is more or less an origin story for the villains, and we did in fact see quite a few heavy-hitters in Batman's Rogues Gallery make an appearance in the movie. Towards the end of the movie and in a deleted scene, we see The Joker, and based on said deleted scene, Pattinson's Batman had history with the character before his lockup in Arkham Asylum. Colin Farrell is set to reprise his role as The Penguin in an untitled HBO Max series based on the character, along with a once Gotham PD-turned-Arkham series. In other DC news, Michael Keaton returns as Batman in the Flash movie, where we see numerous batsuits in the sneak peek shown at CinemaCon 2022. And finally in entertainment news, Netflix will premiere the Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series.
