Looking Forward: 3 Video Game Remakes We're Excited For in 2023 - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix, we're looking ahead to 2023 and the remakes we're excited for. And we're not talking about remasters or next-gen ports, either. These are top-down, bottom-up, front-to-back full-on new games, just based on previous ones. We're talking about Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, and Final Fantasy VII.

Resident Evil 4 redefined the horror genre with its masterful blend of action and horror, and while some Resident Evil purists dismissed the action-oriented gameplay, most agreed it was a welcome change of pace from the previous games that preceded it. And following in RE4's footsteps is Dead Space, a remake of the classic sci-fi survival horror game from 2008. This is more than just a fresh coat of paint: Dead Space has a new dismemberment system, new environments, scarier moments, revamped sound design, and more. And finally, we'll get into the second entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series. The first spent its entire 50+ hours in Midgar, now players will venture out into the wider world. Maybe there will be a chance to save all of Cloud's friends this time around... And it's all brought to you by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
