Dean Devlin (showrunner and EP for SyFy's The Ark, writer of "Independence Day", "Godzilla", "Leverage") joins Clint Cage to discuss the first Stargate-crossing scene of Stargate (1994), co-written with the film's director, Roland Emmerich, where the soldiers cross through the Stargate. Following the scene's journey from script to screen, the two highlight how actors Kurt Russell and James Spader lent personal touches to the moment, as well as how VFX artists pushed themselves to bring the Stargate to life. Devlin shares personal stories of making the film and reflects on the legacy of Stargate in science fiction.
