⚔️ Horizon Steel Frontiers Gameplay + Dev Talk - First Look at the Massive New MMO!

Sony and NCSoft have officially revealed Horizon Steel Frontiers, a full-scale MMO set in the Horizon universe, designed for PC, iOS and Android with a free-to-play model.
Rather than playing as established protagonist Aloy, players will create custom characters to become machine-hunters in a region called the “Deadlands,” inspired by Arizona and New Mexico, where the focus is on large-scale hunts and multiplayer interaction.
The game emphasizes co-operative and competitive play - teams can take down massive machines, while rival tribes may fight over resources or territory, blending classic Horizon hunting with MMO scale.
Unique combat mechanics are introduced: players can extract parts from defeated machines, mount them on their characters or mounts, and use tools like the Pullcaster to climb machines during battle, highlighting strategy and dynamic vertical play.
No release date is announced yet, but the project marks a major shift in the Horizon franchise - being developed for mobile and PC first - and signals Sony’s ambition to expand the IP into a long-running live service format beyond just consoles.
