In this snippet from Podcast Beyond Episode 938, This week, Sony unveiled an update to PSSR, the PS5 Pro’s AI-powered graphical enhancing technology, which makes some improvements, but ones you have to look pretty closely to notice. Conversely, NVIDIA showed off its DLSS 5 tech by giving Resident Evil Requiem, Starfield and Hogwarts Legacy some makeovers that might be a little too noticeable, and which most of the internet seems to look more like AI slop than next gen video games. This is the direction things are going, so will it get fine-tuned into something a little less off-putting, or is this just the beginning of a whole new uncanny valley for game characters?
