Their horses kicked up clouds of dust behind them as they sped towards the horizon. Gold coins were spilling out of the saddle bags, but The Bearded Man and his merry crew of mustachioed men didn’t have time to care. They didn’t even have time to appreciate the Joshua trees in their rear view mirrors, so to speak, as they galloped for their lives. They’d just dynamited the tracks in front of a locomotive, pulling off the single largest train heist any one of them had ever attempted. A wealthy dowager was aboard the train, along with more than a couple safes full of gold. Well, it was The Bearded Man’s gold now, and he laughed as he rode, with his infamous shiny gold tooth reflecting the sunlight as he kicked his horse into higher gear. There was a whole lot of desert left to ride, and law enforcement would be coming for them any second. Just when the mind games started getting the most intense, the gang of misfits spotted a clearing in a rocky outcrop. They slid their horses through the opening, inadvertently discovering what would later become known as Hidden Valley, one of the most beautiful places on earth. They’d be safe there, our hero reckoned, and he was right. They spent the better part of the summer just kicking it in their isolated oasis hideout, and after a while, they even threw a pool party or two. Fun fact: Nicolas Haelg was the first ever DJ to spin in the wild west, and he wrote this song about his adventures there.
