Winning fans early with tracks like "Friend Zone" and "Bando," the 21-year-old, who was born Artist Dubose, has been gathering steam ever since. His 'Artist' mixtape grabbed praise from critics and widened his audience. In June he was named part of XXL's 'Freshman Class,' a reliable sign of talent about to explode. His music has an enviable breadth; one writer has said that it stretches from sensitivity to bluster. To celebrate the arrival of 'The Bigger Artist' album, A Boogie got on the mic in the Vevo vocal booth and bounced through three performances, "Say A," "Beast Mode," and "Drowning."
