Three Thoughts on Self Care
There's been a lotta bouncin' around in Wifisfuneral's life. 21-year-old MC Isaiah Rivera has caught some major buzz from his SoundCloud tracks and hard-hitting mixtapes such as 'Black Heart Revenge' and 'When Hell Falls." Growing up in Palm Beach after spending his childhood in the Bronx, Rivera has said that he often longed for the support of his estranged dad, a NYC battle-rapper whose profession helped inspire his son to pick up a mic. As a Florida teen, hip-hop was everything to WiFi, but he found himself battling drug use and contemplating suicide. Those feelings of confusion and despair have helped fuel his art, and he's turned blunt rhymes into eloquent emotional statements. He's cited Three 6 Mafia and Lil Wayne as inspirations, but through the last two years, he's honed his sound into something truly personal - one reason why he made it to XXL's Freshman 2018 Freshman Class list. You can hear those latest efforts on 'Ethernet,' the WiFi's new album featuring "25 Lighters" and "100 Ways." We invited him participate in our 'Three Thoughts' series, and he blew through a list of reasons of how important it is to take care of yourself physically and mentally.
