Introducing the Jury

Anna Meredith is a composer, producer and performer who’s recently enjoyed critical acclaim for her latest work ‘Five Telegrams’ – a co-commission between Edinburgh International Festival, 14 – 18 Now and BBC Proms.

David Watkin is a conductor and cellist; and Head of Strings at the Royal conservatoire of scotland. David was chair of the semi-final jury.

Marin Alsop is an internationally acclaimed conductor - Musical Director at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra.

Andrew Moore studied Double Bass at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He been the Head of Music at the Edinburgh International Festival since 2014.

And finally Sir James Macmillan is Scotland’s leading composer. His music performed in concert halls around the world. He is also a conductor and tonight chairs this Grand Final Jury.
