Rhetta Hughes is a soul singer, actress from Dallas Texas. She started singing in clubs after nursing for a brief period and immediately became a staple in the Dallas and Chicago circuits in the late 60’s. She went on to put out several records, and feature on hit tracks such as Robert Flack’s “Feel like Makin’ Love” as well as tour with several off broadway productions in the 70’s. The 80’s saw her hit broadway and even get a Tony nomination all the while releasing original music of her own, ‘Starpiece’ included.
