The name "Bishop Briggs" may seem in the vein of faux clergyman Father John Misty, but the real story behind the stage name of Sarah Grace McLaughlin is nothing like that. "My entire family is from an area of Scotland called Bishopbriggs," she explains. "They have been supportive throughout this whole journey, and so [my artist name] was kind of a way to tip my hat to them and thank them for everything they've done."
