Here's a love song for you...I think I was channeling Rosemary Clooney. It could've also been titled
"Lonely Luau"...Shit. That's a better name. Oh well...too late. It's hard to know what exactly inspires songs. The old movies you grew up with? Wanting to investigate a new form (instead of verse, chorus, verse, chorus)? Seeing the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and really craving a tropical vacation? Running out of ideas?...Whatever it was, it's pretty magical to see a simple bass-line and melody get turned into a song. I love watching how Jack produces it, and how attentive each musician is with their part. It's funny because every time I write a song I'm convinced that it's the worst song I've written. But then I share it with these incredible musicians - people who really care - and it becomes something better than I could've ever imagined. I just can't believe how lucky I am to be working with these people.
