Hip-hop in 2018 was defined by a variety of flows, some of which can be attributed to the likes of Migos, Young Thug, Valee, Gucci Mane, and Eminem. There’s also a fast-paced, offbeat cadence used by Blueface, Shoreline Mafia, and YBN Nahmir that’s often credited to Vallejo, Calif. group SOB X RBE. However, the flow actually dates back to Northern California rap in the late ‘80s and early '90s. Rappers at the forefront of this era include Mac Dre, E-40, Keak da Sneak, and Suga Free.
