Chaz Bear has been releasing and producing music as Toro y Moi for nearly a decade. Throughout that time he’s collaborated with artists such as Diddy (Puff Daddy) and jazz-rock duo The Mattson 2, and critics credit Chaz as one of the pioneering artists behind the early aughts lo-fi genre “chillwave.” Last year, he delivered his fifth studio album 'Boo Boo' under the moniker. Chaz revealed the album was influenced by Travis Scott, Daft Punk, and Frank Ocean, among other artists, and explored the idea of space within music.

The album’s breakout single “Girl Like You” focuses on Chaz’s personal navigation and fear in the dating world, along with the exhaustion that comes with using dating apps.
