Lisa Loeb holds the honor of being the first artist to score a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 before signing to a label. Her 1994 single “Stay (I Missed You)” was the lead single for the soundtrack to Reality Bites, the iconic Generation X romantic comedy starring Ethan Hawke, Winona Ryder, and Ben Stiller.
