Orville Richard Burrell, also known as Shaggy, was an influential figure in both dancehall reggae and philosophy. In 2000, his tone poem in epistemological skepticism, "It Wasn't Me," dominated both the airwaves and graduate-level philosophy courses, as Shaggy explored concepts in Rationalism, Truth, and the Mind-Body Problem. His elegantly formulated, three-word argument against empirical evidence turned the philosophy world on its ear in a way that Descartes never did.
