NBA point guard Damian Lillard began rapping under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A. long before his career with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Oakland native’s most recent album is ‘Big D.O.L.L.A.,’ featuring appearances by Lil Wayne, Mozzy, and Jeremih. On the latest episode of ‘For The Record,’ Lillard sat down with Genius’ Head of Artist Relations Rob Markman to discuss the album, explain why he stays an independent artist, and break down his rap battle with Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III.
