Anita Meyer is momenteel veel te horen in een radioreclame van Libelle met het nummer 'The Alternative Way'. Daarom vandaag deze unieke Toppop clip nog eens prominent op het Toppop kanaal!

Anita Meyer (Rotterdam, 29 oktober 1954), officiële naam: Annita Meijer, is een Nederlandse zangeres. Ze begon midden jaren zeventig als een veelgevraagde achtergrondzangeres. De doorbraak als soloartieste was in 1976 met 'The Alternative Way', een samenwerking met Hans Vermeulen en zijn groep Rainbow Train. Dit nummer werd in Nederland een nummer 1-hit (in de Top 40 van 27 maart 1976), gevolgd door nog talloze hits in de jaren zeventig en tachtig.
In 2011 en 2017 werkte Meyer mee aan het AVROTROS tv-programma 'De beste zangers van Nederland', waarin ze diverse nummers van andere zangers vertolkte. In navolging daarvan verscheen haar nummer 1-hit uit 1981, 'Why tell me why', opnieuw in de hitlijst met DJ Guilliano.

Anita Meyer (Rotterdam, October 29, 1954) is a Dutch singer. She started out as a much sought-after backing singer in the mid-1970s. The breakthrough as a solo artist was in 1976 with 'The Alternative Way', a collaboration with Hans Vermeulen and his group Rainbow Train. This song became a number 1 hit in the Netherlands, followed by numerous hits in the seventies and eighties.
In 2011 and 2017, Meyer participated in the AVROTROS TV program 'The best singers in the Netherlands', in which she performed various songs by other singers. Following that, her 1981 No. 1 hit, "Why tell me why," re-entered the charts with DJ Guilliano.
