‘We zullen doorgaan’ van Ramses Shaffy uit 1972 werd hét nummer in Nederland in de gezamenlijke strijd tegen het coronavirus.
Het Radio 2 programma ‘Spijkers met Koppen’ lanceerde op 21 maart de 'We Zullen Doorgaan-challenge'. De klassieker van Ramses Shaffy werd tijdens de uitzending live gezongen door de cabaretiers Hanneke Drenth, Aron Elstak, Kiki Schippers en Patrick Nederkoorn. Dat was het begin van de challenge, want bekende Nederlanders zongen op afstand dit nummer mee vanuit hun huis. Onder hen o.a. Jeroen van der Boom, Stef Bos, Marike Jager, Simone Kleinsma, Jan Kooijman, Wolter Kroes, Tania Kross, Paul de Leeuw, en Jeangu Macrooy. Het filmpje ging viraal. Mensen werden aangespoord hetzelfde te doen voor de verbroedering tijdens de coronacrisis.

‘Wij zullen doorgaan’ is een door Ramses Shaffy geschreven nummer, afkomstig van zijn album "We Zullen Doorgaan" uit 1972. In deze versie zingt hij het nummer solo. Drie jaar later zong hij het nummer opnieuw in met begeleiding van het koor ‘De Stem des Volks’ onder leiding van Bertus van der Vliet en werd het op single uitgebracht. Met deze versie trad Ramses op in het TROS tv-programma ‘Op Losse Groeven’ op 24 mei 1975. Het resultaat was een hitnotering in de Top 40 met no. 13 als hoogste plek op 7 juni 1975.

‘We Zullen Doorgaan’ is a song written by Ramses Shaffy and appeared on his 1972 album "We Zullen Doorgaan". In this version he sings the song solo. Three years later, Ramses recorded the song again with accompaniment of the choir "De Stem des Volks" conducted by Bertus van der Vliet and was released as a single. This version Ramses performed in the TROS TV program "Op Losse Groeven" on May 24, 1975. The result was a hit in the Top 40 with No. 13 as the highest spot on June 7, 1975.
