This TopPop Chistmas Special was recorded and broadcast on Christmas Eve, 24 December 1984.
This is in fact a hommage to Dutch singer Koos Alberts, who died this year 2018, on 28 September, since he had no less than three singles in the Dutch Top Ten at the end of his breakthrough year 1984.

Koos Alberts, pseudonym of Jacobus Johannes (Koos) Krommenhoek (Amsterdam, 3 February 1947 – Enschede, 28 September 2018), was a Dutch singer that came to prominence with his first hitsingle 'Ik Verscheurde Je Foto' that entered the Dutch charts on 17 November 1984 and reached #7 in the Dutch Top 40. Two other singles charted within weeks after this single and Koos ended the year 1984 with three singles in the Top 10, including these singles and 'Gisteren Heeft Zij Mij Verlaten', a feat not repeated by any other artist since.
