Jim (James Aaron) Diamond (28 September 1951 – 8 October 2015) was a Scottish singer-songwriter, best known for his first hit "I Won't Let You Down" (1982), as the lead singer in the trio Ph.D, with Tony Hymas and Simon Phillips.
"I Should Have Known Better", was his first solo performance after PhD, United Kingdom reaching No.1 in 1984.
He visited the Toppop studio on 12 November 1984 to record this version of his hit that would reach #2 in the Dutch Top 40 on 19 January 1985.
