August 4 is the birthdate of pioneering trumpeter and composer Louis Armstrong, born in New Orleans in 1901. To celebrate Armstrong and to illustrate his immense influence in popular music, we're spotlighting three studio performances at The Current from 2019 that featured trumpet: 26 BATS!, "Do What You Do"; Whitney, "Friend of Mine"; and Lady Lark, "Right Kinda Love."
