The guitar figure played by Bruce Arnold that opens Sonic Twist’s ® video “Lacewing” summons up the flight of a tiny winged creature and vocalist Judi Silvano’s entrance continues this delicate reference. For videographer Michal Shapiro, it recalls a fond childhood memory of evening summers in the country, when after chasing lightning bugs, she would sometimes see diminutive Lacewings perched on window screens. These nocturnal insects can be seen from dusk to dawn, as they feast on flower nectar and pollen. Their pale green translucent wings and copper eyes give them an especially fragile beauty. The video “Lacewing” pays homage to both lace and lacewings with motifs of classic embroidered lace to depict clouds, forests, flowers and fields in sunlight that wanes into the night. The music by guitarist Bruce Arnold and vocalist Judi Silvano creates the energy of that day, and ends with a gentle goodnight diminuendo.”
