Chi Coltrane (16 november 1948, Racine, Wisconsin) is an American singer/songwriter.
Her debut album 'Chi Coltrane' was released in 1972 and thanks to her first single 'Thunder and Lightning' was a worldwide hit. More than a million of the single were sold. After a successful tour, she went into the studio for two years to record her second album 'Let it Ride' (1974). Coltrane writes all her songs herself. She scored hits in Europe, including top ten hits in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. With 'Go like Elijah' she was in the Dutch Top 40 and the 'National Hitparade' for weeks in 1973, of which two weeks at number 1.
