Sonic Twist® - Shimmer Down (ft. Judi Silvano, Bruce Arnold)

Sonic Twist’s® playful video “Flutterby” musically evokes the many circuitous patterns of butterflies in flight —something vocalist Judi Silvano has long appreciated as she gardens.The video uses the motifs of these beautiful insects as Judi Silvano and guitarist Bruce Arnold (the duo of Sonic Twist®) spontaneously compose some whimsical music in front of a green screen. The use of this device freed up videographer Michal Shapiro to experiment with both the background and the foreground of the video.The backgrounds are all shots of butterflies, some highlighting the beauty of their wings. Others are harder to identify; the most intriguing and architectural of these are microscopic magnifications of wings and antennae. The foreground was much more challenging as Michal Shapiro had to use multiple layers and inversions of the images of the musicians, to achieve deceptively light-hearted, multi-layered effects. But the result is a happy, fun loving outing, like a walk in a late Spring meadow.
