Tom Browne's 'Happy New Wish' after he reached the #3 spot on the Dutch Top 40 in February 1981 with 'Funkin' For Jamaica'.
Tom Browne (Queens, 30 oktober 1954) is a jazz trompet player who was known for his early work with Sonny Fortune and his big hits 1980 and 1981, "Funkin' for Jamaica (N.Y.)" and "Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move)".
This New Years Wish was broadcast in the Christmas Show of Toppop, 12 December 1981. He thanked the Dutch audience for making his 'Funkin' For Jamaica' a number one hit in Holland.
