Laura Branigan performing live her biggest hit "Self Control" at the 16th Annual Telethon of Stars filmed December 5-6, 1992 in Montreal, Canada. Laura was the headliner artist of this televised charity event to raise funds for continued research into childhood diseases.
This was one of her performances, she also performed "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" and surely "Gloria". We don't know yet if she also performed more songs.

Steven Cojocaru was the talent booker. He graduated from Wagar High School in 1988 and later earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Concordia University. Cojocaru began working in 1991 for the Canadian fashion magazine Flare. She recalls her experience with Laura:
"As far as I was concerned, I had landed the biggest job in showbiz. Barely out of university, I was hired as a talent booker for a local telethon and my mission was to book an American star to headline the night. Everybody watched the telethon channel, Montreal's CFCF-12. This was a big deal. We had to land somebody with a name, a profile, who wasn't above renting their fame to a random cause for twenty-four hours. A lot of people look at these charity events and think stars do it out of the goodness of their heart. Well, we paid our big headliners fifteen thousand dollars, flew them in first class, and put them up at the Ritz-Carlton.
Somehow, I managed to book the singer Laura Branigan. Her big hit, "Gloria," had come and gone and her career was Iess than sizzling, but I became the hero for landing her. I swooned when she showed up with her whole entourage, an assistant, a musical director, and her manager. I thought, "Oh. My God. A famous person. I guess they get to have slaves." But she was really nice to me in that fake, Hollywood, You're-My-New-Favorite-Person way. We all went out for dinner and I was beyond starstruck.
Laura worked really hard for the bucks. During her performance, she sang live along with a recording of "Gloria." But something happened to the sound system, and the tape got stuck and just kept playing the "gloria" chorus over and over and over. It just kept going and Laura was such a pro that she kept singing. We must have used up an hour of telethon time on that one song. The pledge money rolled in."
