Laura Branigan - Self Control nominated for Favorite Pop Video Female - American Music Awards (1985)

The 12th Annual American Music Awards held at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California (January 28, 1985). The ceremony was hosted by singer Lionel Richie who introduced many artists to present the nominations and the prizes to the winners. Laura Branigan was a nominee on the category "Favorite Pop/Rock Video Female" for her suggestive, mysterious, controversial and certainly her biggest music video "Self Control" directed by the Oscar winning director William Friedkin and released in 1984. Stephen Stills and Corey Hart presented the award. Other artists nominees with Laura were Cyndi Lauper for "She Bop" and Tina Turner for "Better Be Good To Me". Finally Lauper won the award.
