"Juicy Pomegranate" is a Jazz Fusion song from the album "The Child Within" by Aldoush.
This song is one of the first Persian Fusion songs ever written using Tombak with Fretless Bass, Soprano Sax and Acoustic Guitar in a Western Jazz environment (Circa 1992).
Lyrics (by Scott Hill):
Press on the skin and the juices within
Will explode in your mouth
With amorous sweetness and life
Surrender the senses to red spheres of splendor
They hang from the tree
The round, Juicy pomegranates
Taste of life,
A wine from the seeds of the sun
A treasure of mine for you

For thousands of years Pomegranate has been a sacred fruit in the Middle East. It symbolizes: Sanctity, Fertility, Abundance, Love, Sweetness of Heaven, Health, Life , Good Fortune, Good Health, Plenty, Youthfulness and Good luck.

The main fruit of this evening is the Pomegranate ("The Fruit of Heaven"). They stay up and enjoy each other's company and eat a lot of Pomegranates and Watermelons.

Aldoush & the Human Exchange create an exotic new sound on their album "The Child Within". Their arrangements pass through many different genres, blending folk melodies and rhythms with Western harmonies rooted in jazz and classical styles.
The result is a sound that contains both the raw effervescence of true village music and the uncanny communication found in a well rehearsed jazz band. Winner of the San Francisco Weekly 1993 Wammies Award for best World Music album of the year, this music is a must for multiculturalists and world music enthusiasts alike. Listen and be enchanted.
