Eurovision 2021 stage construction: We tour Rotterdam Ahoy during load-in

The construction of the Eurovision 2021 stage started on 11 April inside Rotterdam Ahoy. Our Esma takes you behind the scenes, passing through the Covid Testing Pavilion by Ahoy before meeting two key figures.

1:48 Erwin Rintjema, the head of production for the song contest. He's in charge of all the logistics and the technology going into the arena, such rigging and motors that hold up all of the lighting and video equipment used in the show.

4:07 Sietse Bakker, Executive Producer. He discusses the team's busy schedule over the next weeks, which includes load-in and the construction of the stage and green room, and rehearsals for stand-ins, voting and interval acts. Rehearsals with the Semi-Final 1 acts will begin on 8 May. He says the audience will add a lot of energy, which is so crucial for the singers.
