In normal times Eurovision fans would be packing their suitcases and getting ready to head to Rotterdam for Eurovision 2021. But as we all know these are unusual times and things aren’t so straightforward.

But the city of Rotterdam is responding in a beautiful way: It’s giving everyone the chance for a digital visit — right now — courtesy of The Rotterdam #SWINGALONG. The project is all about people swinging their way to the city through dance and technology.

The project comes with a fun new song and music video called “#SWINGALONG” from the artists David Vunk & De Likt, filmed across several eye-catching locations. In the #SWINGALONG video clip, well-known and unknown Rotterdammers dance at six Rotterdam locations. The catchy dance spreads in a fluid movement from one person to the next. I’m very happy to say I have a small cameo myself!

Best of all: you can take part. You can learn the moves and film yourself with the fun #SWINGALONG filters, which will transport you to the deck of a colourful Spido Rotterdam water taxi, to the green and inviting space of DakPark, and to the iconic interior of Blue City (a former indoor swimming pool).

A series of winners will be chosen and from May 17 their videos will be projected onto the World Port Center in Rotterdam! Yes, you can be seen dancing on a building during Eurovision 2021.
