Stems lowered into soil.
The grain has infinite names, secret seed.
All the songs we sing with blood taste
the world in the mouth, the mossy cliff
all the angels who promise that the saga will be won
trembling from cries of the forest
the fairy tales were trawled through the stomach and back

You hear the scraping of time inside
the body, the chamber of the lungs now closes.
How you play tonight and burn
as the lake explodes in slow motion
and faces light up, like beacons
one by one, key after key
