'Nightingale' is a great single by Dutch popgroup George Cash from Amsterdam.
The group was founded in 1967 the line-up was singer Todje (Barend van Werven) bass guitarist Paul Janssen drummer Herman van Boeyen and keyboard player Marco Klein. With new singer Johnny Frederiksz the group scored two hits in 1969 and 1970 with 'Nightingale' and 'Thanks For The Love'
In 1970 the last George Cash line-up consisted of singer Steve Allet (aka Koen Merkelbach), bass guitarist Roel Smits, guitarist Aad van der Kreeft, drummer Paul Lagaay and organist Hessel de Vries.

This very rare tv recording was made by AVRO pop tv program Doebidoe on August 30, 1969
'Nightingale' reached no. 10 in the Dutch Top 40 on September 20, 1969.
