The Dutch winner of the Eurovision Song Contest of 1975 was Teach. They won the Eurovision with the song "Ding-a-dong". The band was founded in 1969 and parted in 1980. Lead singer was Getty Kaspers. As a result "Ding-a-dong" charted in nearly every European country, as well as a #22 placing in the US on the Easy Listening chart.
In the summer of 1976 singer Getty left the group and was replaced by Dutch singer Marianne Wolsink and Flemish singer Betty Vermeulen. The singles 'Upside down', and 'Dear John' became big hits.
'The single 'The robot' reached #16 in March 1979

TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the programme weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years.
World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.
