Jamecia Bennett's latest single, “To the Sky,” is an anthem of positivity, featuring substantial vocal prowess, and a pulsating deep house beat sound. In the face of yet another dark year of isolation, this song rolls in like a confetti bomb.
Featuring the 3 Time Grammy Award-Winning Sounds of Blackness, the song evokes an atmosphere reminiscent of house legends Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Basement Jaxx, Dee-lite, and early Kelis.
Jamecia wrote, “To the Sky,” with the intention to encourage those affected by the chaotic nature of today’s world.
“I wanted to create a song to transfer some healing and comfort toward those who suffer from depression, heartbreak, mental illness, those who’ve lost jobs, but most of all--those who’ve lost family and friends.”
The song screams of strength and boldness. In her music video, Jamecia struts like a lioness in a barrage of vibrant costumes featuring a cast of funky empowering cameos by the Sounds of Blackness, friends, and family. Every step Jamecia takes exudes a mixture of confidence and jubilance.

Who Is Jamecia Bennett?:
Jamecia Bennett is a featured lead vocalist for the world-renowned, 3 time Grammy Award-Winning outfit, Sounds of Blackness.
Under the direction of Gary Hines, and produced by super-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Jamecia is the writer and producer of their hit single, “Fly Again,” off their self-titled album, “The Sounds of Blackness.” She’s the featured lead vocalist and video director for their new single, “Sick and Tired.”
After touring the world with the Sounds Of Blackness, Jamecia also received a solo contract from Mercury Records. Which resulted in receiving platinum and gold albums for her writing and performing songs on movie soundtracks such as, Jason’s Lyric (performed platinum soundtrack album song: Rodeo Style), Kazaam (performed song: The Best of Me), and the film Posse which she performed song: “Women United”.
When she’s not singing with Sounds of Blackness, she enjoys collaborating in her own band, J Movement.
Achievements:
In 2012 Ms. Bennett along with the Sounds of Blackness won an NAACP Image award and concurrently received a Grammy win, having produced and written for gospel artist, Leandria Johnson.
Jamecia hit the Billboard charts at #8 as a featured lead soloist with Dove and Stellar nominees James Grear and Co. with a cd entitled, “Don’t Give UP.”
In 2017, she released a single titled, “Man 4 Me,” written with her team singer/ songwriter Mike Decole, producer J Issac Moore, and Robbie Rob.
Jamecia is a jack of all trades when it comes to music and art. In 2019, she moved her talents into the blues circuit, releasing, “Holiday Blues.” The song was meant to channel some of her favorite legends: Koko Taylor, Shemekia Copeland, and Rosetta Tharpe.
Jamecia made history in 2020 by being asked to be the 1st woman /African American woman to become The Artist Resident for the legendary Ordway Center of Performing Arts!
Jamecia released a brand new international single, “Do What You Want,” earlier this year. The song was produced in collaboration with Berlin hit maker Dj Dickey Doo, pipelining her music with a new company out of Germany called Hypernatural.
