Kandiah Kamalesvaran, born 13 November 1934), better known by his stage name Kamahl, is a Malaysian-born Australian singer and recording artist. His highest charting Australian single, "Sounds of Goodbye" (1969), reached the top 20 on the Kent Music Report singles chart. Another single, "The Elephant Song" (1975), peaked at number one in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Generally, his repertoire comprises pop and adult contemporary music.

He made his debut in 1959, but his breakthrough in the Netherlands was not until 1975 thanks to The Elephant Song. The record was featured in a TV documentary about the World Wildlife Fund. Producer Hans van Hemert wrote the song for Kamahl and the recording became a huge success in Europe. The text was by Gregor Frenkel Frank. The record spent five weeks in the top spot of the Top 40 and the National Hit Parade. Subsequent successes such as Chanson d'amour, White Christmas, Save the Oceans of the World and Save the Whale still made it to the charts, but Kamahl was no longer in the position of number one.
