ℹ️ "Heart of Asia", a 1999 remix of Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by Watergate

In 1998 the first single The Battle was released, with which Watergate immediately entered the German Top 20 and the Austrian Top 30.
The song is a cover version of the Wings hit Mull of Kintyre from 1977. In May 1999, another chart success followed with Maid of Orleans (The Battle II) from the Watergate EP, a new version of OMD's 1982 hit Maid of Orleans (The Waltz Joan of Arc), this time also in the Swiss charts.

In the fall of the year, Heart of Asia, another single from the album The World of Watergate, placed in the Top 30 in Germany and Switzerland. In May 2000, the song, which is based on the music from Furyo - Merry Christmas,
Mr. Lawrence, even rose to No. 3 in the UK charts. The project was terminated during this period, but nevertheless another release was made in 2002. Together with Mythos aka Alexander Kilb the single Neverending Dream was released, a cover version of the 1996 X-Perience hit,
which was able to place itself only briefly on lower ranks of the German charts in 2003.
