Laura Branigan is interviewed by the WKTU radio disc jockey Carlos De Jesus for the music television series “New York Hot Tracks” hosted by him on March 1984. This weekly series played dance videos announced by Carlos from different city nightclubs in the New York City and presented interviews with the hottest artists. This time, from "The Fun House" a dance club in New York City, Laura announces that she has just finished shooting the music video for "Self Control" under the direction of William Friedkin. Laura talks about her experience recording the clip and tell us a little of the video's concept, sings some lines of the song, with much enthusiasm and high expectations for her recent work that would become a few weeks later a super success in the charts of many countries in the world, her biggest hit, a great classic of the 80's until today and the most inspired of her music videos.
After finishing the interview the show played the music video for "Solitaire" (we remove it to avoid blocking the video for copyright claim). The music video for "Self Control" was premiered the following week. We include the small clip of Laura presenting her video that she left recorded that same day but that was only seen the following week when the "Self Control" music video was officially released.
