Romance alone being incapable of fulfilling the contract under these conditions. Particularly, the idiosyncratic nature of emotions. The artist is just too complicated. Appropriation of DVD menus and VHS tape decay are disconnecting both the signifier and the signified from their purported referents in the phenomenal world.
