Het Simplisties Verbond is een organisatie bedacht door de Nederlandse cabaretiers Kees van Kooten en Wim de Bie. Gedachte hierachter was dat alles in het leven simpeler kon. Begin jaren zeventig waren er zoveel veranderingen op zowel maatschappelijk terrein dat het nauwelijks bij te benen was voor de gewone man en vrouw. Je zou er de weg van kwijtraken. ‘Zoek jezelf’ is een cover van het nummer ‘Lay it down’ van countryster Waylon Jennings. Het behaalde een achtste plek in de charts. De oerdegelijke mattenklopper was het symbool van het Simplisties Verbond, dat de aanleiding vormde voor een eerste eigen programma voor Koot en Bie die tot die tijd alleen in andermans televisieprogramma’s hadden opgetreden. De twee behoren tot de grootste en meest legendarische televisieduo’s van Nederland dankzij talloze karakteristieke typetjes en uitspraken en woorden die zijn opgenomen in de Nederlandse taal. Wim de Bie overleed op 27 maart 2023.

Het Simplisties Verbond is a fictional organization created by Dutch comedians Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie. The idea behind this was that everything in life could be simpler. In the late 1970s there were so many changes in social areas that it was difficult for the common man and woman to keep up. You would lose your way. ‘Zoek jezelf’ (‘Find yourself’) is a cover of the song ‘Lay it down’ by country star Waylon Jennings. It reached the eighth place in the Dutch charts. The rock-solid carpet beater was the symbol of het Simplisties Verbond, which was the reason for their first own television program for Koot and Bie, who until then had only performed in other people's television programs. The two are among the largest and most legendary television duos in the Netherlands thanks to countless characteristic characters and sayings and words that are now common knowledge in the Dutch language. Wim de Bie passed away on March 27, 2023.
