As an alternative to Dickens "A Christmas Carol" or Burtons "A nightmare before Christmas". A satirical attempt in no chronological order. A man lifeless on the street with the materialistic commerce flashing by in his mind. It seems to be Santa Claus himself, exhausted to it all. A swinging reporter appears with the words from an old anti war poem by Stig Dagerman, with its message of the uselessness in getting a medal at the end. Then Santa Claus is playing chess with Grim Reaper, outside a gaming store this time instead for by the shoreline, as in the classic Bergman film of films. Santa Claus is of course losing the game and Grim Reaper takes him aside for the last command. Santa Claus falls as lifeless to the ground as we've already seen him in the beginning. The cinematography has therefore even a small spoon of "Sunset Blvd" in it. The light is blown out by The Death. Definitely time to call it a day. But then comes The Angel with some kind of magical resurrection and Santa Claus wakes immediately up from his eternal sleep. But it seems like behind the mask of Santa Claus hides The Pilot, the keyboard player from Mårten Lärka & His Crew of Merrymakers. The Pilot is running up the street, out of the scene and the happy ending is here. Grim Reaper returns and blows back the light of life. As many times before and many more times to come. Happy ending and Merry Christmas to you all.
