These videos were made as a collaboration between Aaron and artist Sam Potter using an algorithm made by Katherine Crowson and Chigozie Nri. Each video from this Speaking to Silence piano series is generated from a collection of photos, written descriptions, pictures of flora from where conversations once took place and memories archived around the time of production. Treat them as an invitation to feel as Aaron did when he wrote the music, gentle time machines made from fleeting feelings and recollections.

The collaboration between Aaron and Sam is such an organic, and obvious one. Both have amazing visions with what their art can do - combining the sensory with the cerebral, and creating art through sound and sight, in the hope to aid a cognition. Aaron’s piano series ‘Speaking to Silence’ is an exploration of finding sound in silence, and forming meditative, thought provoking pieces using piano, hang drums and other ambient sounds, which aid in bringing attention to the silent pauses in the track swell, just like sculpture is formed as much by the negative space surrounding it, as well as it’s physical form.
