Dynamic trio TLC won the GRAMMY for Best R&B Album for Fanmail at the first GRAMMY Awards of the new millennium, facing fierce competition from Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, R. Kelly, and Brian McKnight. Presented by David Duchovny and Jennifer Lopez, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas joined her group members and producer Dallas Austin to thank God, their team, and fans. The album delivered influential R&B anthems including "Unpretty" and "No Scrubs," the latter of which also won Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals.
