"If this pain goes away" is a poem written in memory of Noam Abramowitz, an observation soldier who was murdered at the Nahal Oz base on 7.10.23, just two days after completing the observation course and arriving at the base. The Nahal Oz base is one of the first strongholds to be captured in the brutal terrorist attack. Noam was unarmed and unprotected alongside her friends at the base on this terrible morning when hordes of terrorists came into the shelter and shot them. Some of the survivors were kidnapped and are still in Gaza today. Two of them are Noam's best friends from the course, Nama Levy and Liri Elbag.
The song was written right at the beginning of the seven days of mourning by Ili Hadar, Noam's cousin, Noam's sister - Ofri Abramowitz, Mika and Gaia Abramowitz,- cousins. Her good friends Michal Hadad and Ofri Berkowitz helped in the writing. The writing process helped the family members cope with the most terrible loss, And it was as if it happened by itself. We, the family, were looking for an artist to perform the song. A good friend of Ili's and a talented musician appeared, and she performed it at the highest levels possible The production of the song and the preparation of the music video took about eight months and are also part of the long healing process, and in fact the beginning of the journey of internalizing that Noam is gone, and we must commemorate her in every possible way.
Noam was an exceptional and one-off character. A born leader, charismatic, very beautiful inside and out. She always dreamed of becoming prime minister and said so at every opportunity. Noam was an outstanding girl in everything she did, with high values of justice. She excelled in high school and stood out very much in pre-military preparatory school. A great loss to the people of Israel that she is no more. And a huge loss to her family and her many friends. Noam left behind two sisters and a brother, two parents and a loving boyfriend.
May she Rest In Peace.
