Oran “Juice” Jones is an American R&B singer best known for his hit single "The Rain", the first single from the album "Juice". Released in 1986, "The Rain" became an unexpected and iconic track of the mid-1980s. The singer, born March 28, 1957, in Houston, Texas wrote "The Rain" with Vincent Bell. It’s known for its distinctive blend of smooth R&B melodies and Jones' spoken-word interlude, tells the story of a man confronting his unfaithful partner during a rainstorm. This unique narrative approach, combined with its catchy beat and memorable lyrics, propelled "The Rain" to number one on the Billboard R&B chart and number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. In Europe the song reached in a lot of countries the Top 5. The success of "The Rain" established Orange Juice Jones as a significant figure in the R&B genre at that time.
