In the early 18th century, a young Johann Sebastian Bach embarked on an extraordinary journey that would change his life forever. Join us as we explore the incredible story of Bach’s 400-kilometers walk from Arnstadt to Lübeck to meet the great organist Dieterich Buxtehude. Without modern transportation, Bach decided to make the journey on foot. Finally, after almost three weeks, Bach arrived in Lübeck, eager to meet Buxtehude and learn from the master. Bach spent several months in Lübeck, studying Buxtehude’s techniques and compositions. This experience had a profound impact on his music, influencing his work for years to come. Refreshed and inspired, Bach returned to Arnstadt with a wealth of knowledge and a renewed passion for his music.
