Acda & De Munnik is a Dutch musical duo formed by Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik, known for their unique blend of pop music and cabaret-style performances. The pair met in met on a Saturday morning in 1988 during auditions for the cabaret academy in Amsterdam. In the years that followed, they collaborated on theater productions and music. They quickly developed a strong musical partnership, combining Acda's sharp lyrics with De Munnik's melodic compositions. One of their most iconic songs is "Niet of Nooit Geweest", released in 1998. This hit single, from their album "Naar Huis", became an instant classic in Dutch pop music. It was followed by hits like “Het Regent Zonnestralen”, “De Kapitein Deel II”, and “Ren Lenny Ren”. Throughout their career, Acda & De Munnik released several successful albums and became known for their engaging live performances. Their success led to hundreds of sold-out theater shows, numerous music awards including Edisons, a Golden and Silver Harp, and chaotic scenes during their farewell concert in Vondelpark in 2015. They reunited in 2023 with six reunion concerts at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and four shows at Rotterdam Ahoy in 2024. This live performance of "Niet of Nooit Geweest" was taped for the Dutch TV program “Tafkas” on May 31, 1998.
