Classical Composers Who Were Pet Lovers
1. Beethoven and Gigons
Beethoven proposed to his student Therese Malfatti in 1810, but she rejected him. Still, her dog Gigons liked the composer and once accompanied him home after dining by his side.
2. Sir Elgar and Mina and Marco
Elgar loved dogs but his wife Alice didn't, so the couple had no pets until her death. Later, Sir Elgar owned two dogs called Marco and Mina, and he would even speak to them on the phone during work trips!
3. Shostakovich and Tomka
Shostakovich owned a dog named Tomka who once disrupted a home interview by barking and whining in despair because the composer's children were packing for a trip.
Music: Ludwig van Beethoven
