The Strings of My Heart is the stunning new album by Paolo Di Sabatino & Orchestra Benedetto Marcello, conducted by Luisella Chiarini, with Luca Bulgarelli on double bass and Glauco Di Sabatino on drums. With this album, Di Sabatino takes us on a journey rich in emotion and beauty, seamlessly transitioning from classical music to jazz and even samba.

Paolo's love for string instruments runs deep. Throughout his career, the pianist and composer has released several albums featuring a string orchestra, including collaborations with renowned Italian artists such as Fabio Concato. "The sound of strings has always touched the strings of my heart. It’s a sound that envelops me and cradles my soul," Di Sabatino shared. "Throughout my life, I’ve constantly written music—songs, instrumental pieces. But this is the first time I’ve created an album where my compositions take center stage."

The warm, passionate, and at times deeply moving sound of the Orchestra Benedetto Marcello—a prestigious ensemble active since 1984 in Italy and abroad—takes the spotlight in this latest production. Recorded live at the Auditorium del Conservatorio "A. Casella" in L’Aquila (which also sponsored the project), the album showcases Paolo's unique artistic vision.
The work includes 15 Preludes for String Orchestra, three pieces for piano and strings, and four featuring rhythm section, among which Ballata per Keith (dedicated to Keith Jarrett) and Col sottofondo del mare stand out. The latter, written for his daughter Caterina, was previously recorded with vocals by Peppe Servillo on the 2011 album Voices.
For this ambitious and evocative project, Di Sabatino enlisted Luisella Chiarini—a versatile and deeply sensitive conductor—who embraced the vision with enthusiasm.
